My mate Ken Crawley (of
http://www.travelwarwickshire.co.uk) has asked me to post this. He's received a couple of emails from Charla Hennous who is trying to trace her uncle. He's forwarded the emails to me and they are posted below:
First one:
I am looking for my uncle, known as Robert Singh.
He worked as a bus driver in Coventry around 1973.
He also worked for a haulage company and lived in Shakleton Road, Earlsdon.
He had 2 brothers, one known as Alex and the other had an Indian name.
Does this ring any bells with you?
I'm hoping to find my dad through my uncle, as my mum lost contact with him a long time ago.He asked for more details and got this:
Unfortunately, I do not have any photos of my uncle or his brothers.
The name of Robert Singh may have been one he used with friends and colleagues.
This is why I have not been able to track him down via any other records.
I believe his real name may not have been English.
He would have been about 25-27 years old in 1973, so 63-65 years old now?
He lived with his 2 brothers at 46, Shakleton Road, Earlsdon. The names on the Electoral Register for that address in 1973 were Ranat U. Qureshi, Amanullah Qureshi and Inayatullah Qureshi. Therefore, my uncle could have been Ranat Qureshi? Two other people were registered to vote at this address at the time; Roger Lawton and Elizabeth Hayre. If I had a name for the haulage company that Robert worked for, this could also provide a vital clue. Sorry to be so vague, but as it stands, this is really all the information I have to go on.Her email address is
charla.hennous@googlemail.com. If anyone can help, please can they contact Charla directly mentioning this forum and Ken.
Thanks
