Sandy Lane asked about trolley buses in Coventry, I just cannot find the topic entry, and if members remember I did mention a trolley bus on hire in the city. I can now tell after looking at a copy of the Tramway Review Magazine for 1961 Vol.4 Issue No. 30 page 155. I quote.
A double-deck trolleybus, reg. 0020 UM, built in Leeds, was demonstrated in Stoney Stanton Road using a skate in the tram lines, in about 1920. But, the Council never really considered the use of trolleybuses.....And that was the end of any thoughts on trolley buses operating in Coventry.
